There are many potential hazards when attempting a confined space rescue in an oil storage tank. Because of the nature of most oil storage tanks, their nearly complete enclosure and extremely limited access, they are some of the most hazardous confined spaces in which to perform a confined space rescue.  One of the most serious potential hazards is that of asphyxiation. New 3 way retrieval SRL for confined space rescue
At Code Red Safety we use a variety of products for confined space rescue.  For manhole applications we usually use DBI tripod and winch, along with a 3 way SRL.  DBI has come out with a new model that blows away the older SRL’s.  Easy to set up, a cinch to use: it’s smooth and well balanced so carrying it is not the chore it used to be, (try carrying a 175′ 3 way).  We have two of the new models in our rescue fleet and will be upgrading the rest over time.  Here’s the info from...

Recently our confined space rescue teams added the MSA hand ascenders to there rescue kit. They are easy to use, hand large hand grips, this makes them comfortable and they are reasonably priced.
